The Loire is the longest river in France. It starts in the very south, in the Ardèche and then flows north. Along the river are numerous wine regions, especially in the northern part. This starts at Sancerre, Menetou-Salon and Pouilly . Further downstream you will come across Touraine and Vouvray . Then Anjou with sub-regions such as Chinon, Bourgeuil, Savennières, Coteaux du Layon, Bonnezaux and finally Muscadet Sèvre et Maine . At Nantes the Loire flows into the Atlantic Ocean.
