A relatively unknown Savennière from the Loire Valley, this dry white wine made from the Chenin Blanc grape can hold its own against some of the biggest names. It's also unbeatable in terms of price/quality. It's no wonder it's the favorite Savennière of top sommeliers . Winner of the Sommelier's Prize at the Proefschrift wine competition! Savennières, Domaine des Deux Vallées, Loire

The New York Times wrote: "The thinking person's white wine." This dry white wine is very full-bodied and rich. Partially aged in new oak barriques (224-liter wooden wine barrels).
But what exactly makes this Savennières so good that it's a favorite of top Dutch sommeliers? Well, prepare for candied fruit, very elegant oak notes, honey, and freshness. And above all, plenty of tension and minerality, roundness, and a long, lingering finish. This Chenin Blanc is truly a top-notch wine.

Perswijn Review (16 out of 20 points): Ripe citrus fruit, bruised apple, brandy, and butter on the nose. Taste: intense, powerful, broad, good acidity, and long.

The Domaine des Deux Vallées is located in Anjou, overlooking both the Loire and Layon rivers. Hence the name Deux Vallées. They cultivate vineyards scattered around the villages of St. Aubin, Rochefort, Chaume, and Savennières.
Savennières has a wide variety of soils, so you can find many different wine styles there.

Interesting
The Socheleau brothers only started Les Deux Vallées at the beginning of this century. They were apple farmers. In the middle of Anjou, they now cultivate around 40 hectares, mainly planted with Chenin blanc in the Côteaux du Layon. They are members of Terra Vitis, a guarantee for sustainable wine growing and good working conditions.
