Traminer Profund, Herbert Zillinger

Dry white wine from Austria, Weinviertel DAC wine region. Biodynamic wine from Herbert Zillinger. Traminer Profund is a white wine with—what's in a name?—enormous depth. Only the very best Traminer grapes are used for Profund. A portion is co-fermented (Maischevergoren), while the rest undergoes a short maceration (Maischestandzeit). This ensures greater extraction of aromas from the skins.

The must ferments spontaneously without filtering or fining. The wine ferments first in stainless steel and then further in large oak barrels. This wine is bottled unfiltered and with minimal sulfites. Aromas of lychee, roses, apricots, and honey. Complex flavors with fine acidity and bitter notes. Long finish. A top-notch wine from top winemaker Herbert Zillinger.
