Württemberg wine region, worth discovering!
The German wine region Württemberg is located near Stuttgart. So quite south. It is unfortunately not very well known in the Netherlands. But beautiful wines come from here. The Trollinger grape is really typical for the wine region Württemberg. So you won't find it anywhere else in Germany.
Trollinger = Vernatsch = Schiava
The Trollinger grape is also known from Alto Adige. There it is called Vernatsch or Schiava. The German Trollinger is often a bit fruitier but also has that mountain wine character: fine fruit, spice, some white pepper, slim and yet full. This Trollinger from Zimmerle from Württemberg is a beautiful gastronomic wine.
