Saint-Romain, Domaine Gauffroy, Burgundy . A beautiful white Chardonnay wine. Classic style, with fine acidity and freshness alongside toasted notes, buttery notes, and creaminess. Saint-Romain is also becoming increasingly attractive as a (slightly cooler) wine region. It lies northwest of Meursault, in the extension of the side valley where Auxey-Duresses is also located. Saint-Romain is therefore part of the Côte de Beaune .

Burgundy, classic, but under pressure
Burgundy has suffered greatly from extreme weather in recent years. Like night frost and hail in June, which damage the plants. Severe heat and drought. Or downpours at precisely the wrong time. This limits yields and demands the utmost from winemakers. Meanwhile, more and more wealthy people around the world are shelling out big bucks for fine Burgundy.
