Sauvignon Blanc, Muri-Gries, Alto Adige
Description
Sauvignon blanc from Muri-Gries is an expressive white wine from Alto Adige (South Tyrol), Italy. This wine can easily hold its own against fine Sancerre, Pouilly, and Vulkanland-Steiermark. The grapes grow in the vineyards around Eppan, at an altitude of 460–500 meters, on calcareous gravel soils with a southeastern exposure.
Alpine Sauvignon in your glass
This Sauvignon blanc is straw yellow with green reflections. The nose is fruity, with fresh peach, ripe gooseberry, stinging nettle, and lemon balm. Juicy, saline, and mineral on the palate, simultaneously creamy and full-bodied, with lively acidity and a long, playful finish.
- Serve at: 12–14 °C (so not too cold)
- Drink: now - 2030
Cellar and table
Following temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel, the wine matures on the fine lees (yeast cells) in steel tanks. Delicious with asparagus, cheese dumplings, fish, or grilled eel.
