Hans Wirsching Winery is a prominent member of the VDP (Verein Deutsche Prädikatsweingüter), which sets strict standards for winemakers. This is their Silvaner Ortswein, a mid-range wine, and it's already top-notch! A wonderfully creamy wine. Full of ripe pear and mango fruit, with a touch of spice. A truly delicious juice! A beautiful dry white wine from Germany.

Besides being a member of the VDP, Wirsching is also a member of Fair 'n' Green , similar to Terra Vitis in France. Members work as sustainably as possible but also pay close attention to good working conditions and fair pay for employees.

Deliciously juicy and rich Silvaner, fruity but nicely dry. Creamy and full, with ripe pear, mango and green herbs. Elegant and fine. Serve 11 C. Drink: now until 2020.

Interesting
Silvaner is a typical German grape variety. Originally Austrian but now hardly seen there. It is a spontaneous cross between Traminer and Östereichisch Weiss. In Alsace they write Sylvaner (Alsace used to be German too).
