For years, I've been searching for truly fine Alsace wines . All the big names already have importers, so who makes wines at the same level but is still available? At a trade show, I met a cheerful winemaker: Paul Humbrecht. And wow, what fantastic wines!

There are quite a few winemakers in the Nahe region named Schneider. So pay close attention to grandfather Schneider's initials: KH. The German wine guides for 2024 are full of praise, if not lyrical : such as Eichelmann, Vinum, Falstaff, Stuart Pigott . Grandsons Andi and Christoph, however, are the very embodiment of modesty: Christoph cultivates the vineyards and Andi "sucks" at making wine. Their style: kick-ass Riesling, above all.
